Given the ridiculous amount of mascaras in our makeup kits, it’s safe to say we’re obsessed with a full flutter of lashes. While we’re happy to swipe on our go-to mascara most mornings, occasionally go to the effort of applying false lashes, or book in for eyelash extensions every once in a while, it would be nice if we were naturally blessed with beautiful lashes and could just roll out of bed and go. Thankfully, there’s this product called an eyelash growth serum and it can help you enhance lash growth so you can have the long eyelashes of your dreams. Yep, for real.

While you generally need a prescription to buy the type of lash serum that impacts the lash hair’s growth cycle (doctors prescribe them to those who have sparse lashes due to hair loss), there are some great over-the-counter formulas that help improve the look of lashes by strengthening and conditioning them so they’re healthier and less likely to fall out prematurely. And we’ve found the best of the best in Australia. These are our reviews for the ones we’ve used, loved and would buy again.

#7 / Skin Physics Lash & Brow Magic Enhancing Treatment.

Made with over 90 per cent natural ingredients, you can thank a mix of royal castor oil, hemp oil, organic mung bean extracts and silk amino acids for the longer, fuller and strengthened lashes this treatment delivers.

What the box says: Contains no nasties: no parabens, no sulphates, no PEG’s, no silicones, no mineral oil, no pigments. Use morning/night after cleansing your eye area of makeup or eye creams.

The review: “I was looking for something to add volume and length to my lashes – didn’t see much volume difference but I loved the added length I saw after using this for only around 2 weeks. No brittle lashes either; this hydrates each lash and makes it stronger.” Milan, SUPERcrew member.

Cost: $59.95.

#6 / Talika Lipocils Expert Lash Enhancer.

This lash enhancer uses a blend of 12 natural plant extracts and silk proteins to safely makeover short, stumpy lashes into longer and shinier lashes. The included applicator features a unique sponge at the tip for applying the serum at the base of the lashes, and a mascara-like wand to brush it through the lashes from root to tip.

What the box says: Naturally longer, fuller and curved lashes in just 28 days. Apply two times a day.

The review: “Short, stumpy lashes are my arch nemesis, which is why I wear falsies on a daily basis. That doesn’t mean that I don’t try and boost the length of my natural lashes, which is where Talika’s product comes into play. The lightweight serum can be layered under makeup and works, providing that you stick to the rules and apply it twice a day.” Iantha Yu, Beauty Crew’s Beauty Editor.

Cost: $68.

#5 / CanGro Long Lashes Eyelash Enhancer.

The hero product in Australian owned and made CanGro’s line-up, this lash-enhancing serum is packed with vitamins, peptides and antioxidants that work to stimulate, strengthen and condition the eyelashes; and it’s vegan, cruelty-free, hormone-free and gluten-free.

What the box says: Repairs and strengthens your own lashes, leaving you with longer and fuller looking lashes in as little as four to eight weeks.

The review: “ One would think that an eyelash serum that’s a bit more natural in its formula (this one is free of a lot of nasties and is vegan and cruelty-free) might not work as well as those with actives, but after about 10 weeks of use, I’ve noticed fuller lashes that almost look like they’ve been given a hand with lash extensions when I wear a mascara that just adds length and definition (my current go-to is Glossier Lash Slick – find a friend in the US to post you one!). The applicator brush is great – fine like a liquid liner and has just the right amount of pressure to glide along the lash lines with ease. Just be careful if you get any in your eyes – it can sting for a few seconds if you do (but it’s not dangerous, so don’t worry!). ” Carli Alman, Beauty Crew’s Editor.

Cost: $89.

#4 / EyEnvy® Conditioner.

A cocktail of vitamins and strengthening peptides in this lash conditioner will help enhance the length, volume and condition of your lashes – as well as your brows, if you fancy giving them a boost, too. Note: You can only pick up this product at select spas and salons.

What the box says: Expect to see results in four to six weeks, Apply in the morning every day for three months, then every other day for maintenance.

The review: “I’ve tried a few lash serums but EyEnvy is the only one I’ve actually seen results from so far. I have a friend who has the most incredible lashes and when I asked if she had extensions, she told me she’d been using EyEnvy. I was pretty sceptical about whether it would work or not but thought I’d give it a crack. Anything for longer lashes right? Fast forward a couple of months and I was being asked by friends whether I’d had lash extensions! I wouldn’t say my lashes were thicker but they were MUCH longer. From what I understand, it works by prolonging the growth cycle of the lashes so that they grow past their usual length. I bought this at my local salon – I remember paying around $100 for it .” Isobel Larkin, Beauty Crew’s Beauty Assistant.

Cost: $POA.

#3 / Freezeframe Lash Prescription.

Using potent peptide technology, this eyelash serum focuses on preventing lashes from falling out while also improving the appearance of lash length and fullness.

What the box says: Longer, thicker lashes in two weeks; and scientifically-proven to make lashes look up to 72.79 per cent longer and thicker in 42 days. Apply twice daily to upper and lower lash line.

The review: “This is a bit pricey, but I did see results. My lashes definitely got longer and were more hydrated, stronger and healthier. Also it’s a good lash primer, making mascara last longer and look fresh all day.” Georgia, SUPERcrew member.

Cost: $69.

#2 / L’Oréal Paris Clinically Proven Lash Serum.

Formulated to help undo the damage done by excessive use of mascara, extensions and false lashes (guilty!), this lash enhancer serum works to strengthen and nourish lashes. It contains keratin, hyaluronic acid and castor oil for eyelash growth support.

What the box says: 94 per cent of clinical study participants agreed lashes looked fortified and 81 per cent agreed their lashes looked fuller. Apply morning and night at the root of the lash.

The review: “While it took me a while to get used to adding this to my routine twice a day, after using it morning and night for a month I noticed my lashes had gotten a bit longer. I didn’t really notice an increase in lash density, but the serum (which contains castor oil to help strengthen eyelashes to ensure they stick around for longer) definitely helped reduce lash fallout (which is why I saw extra length).” Carli Alman, Beauty Crew’s Editor.

Cost: $29.95.

#1 / GrandeLash-MD Lash Enhancing Serum.

This vegan, cruelty-free and ophthalmologist-tested formula contains a concoction of vitamins, antioxidants and amino acids that work to naturally boost the length and thickness of lashes. It can help improve brittle, short and/or thinning lashes.

What the box says: Results in as little as four weeks, with full results in three months. Use daily on clean, dry eyelashes.

The review: “The best lash growth serum that I love (I use one every night otherwise my eyelashes would be non existent) is Grande Lash-MD Eyelash Enhancing Conditioning Treatment. It comes with a little eyeliner brush that you sweep at the base of your lashes and a little goes along way. This is a must for me.” Aneta, SUPERcrew member.
